The Big Lap

Pack your bags. Fill the tank. We're taking the scenic route.
Inspired by the ultimate Aussie road trip, The Big Lap is a colourful illustrated journey around the country, brought to life by Australian artist Sue Cadzow, the creative talent behind 50's Vintage Dame.

Known for her vintage-inspired illustrations with a modern twist, Sue draws inspiration from mid-century design, bringing a nostalgic charm to everything she creates. Her distinctive style gives The Big Lap a playful, retro personality, transforming Australia's most recognisable icons into a collection of colourful little treasures.

Australia has a funny habit of making ordinary things enormous. And frankly, we love it.
From the Big Pineapple on Queensland's Sunshine Coast and the Big Banana in Coffs Harbour to the Big Prawn in Ballina and the Big Merino in Goulburn, these larger-than-life roadside attractions have become just as iconic as the destinations themselves.

They're the kind of places where you pull over, take a slightly ridiculous photo and proudly tell everyone you've been there.
Alongside Australia's wonderfully oversized attractions are some of our most famous landmarks. The architectural sails of the Sydney Opera House, the historic Brisbane City Hall, Parliament House in Canberra and Tasmania's picturesque Cape Bruny Lighthouse all capture a little piece of Australia's character.
Every little detail tells a story, and the longer you look, the more you'll discover.
