Sentinel Sky is a celebration of family, Country and the timeless connection between land, sky and storytelling. Created in collaboration with Indigenous artist Mulganai (Emma Hollingsworth), this collection transforms a deeply personal memory into wearable art, honouring the traditions that continue to guide generations.
The Story
Growing up, Emma's family would gather around a fire as the sun disappeared below the horizon.
As dusk settled into night, her parents would point to the constellations above, sharing stories of the stars and explaining how their people used the night sky to navigate Country and recognise the changing seasons.
Those evenings became moments of connection—to family, to culture and to the land itself.
Sentinel Sky captures those memories.
The vibrant pinks and reds represent the glowing sunset as day fades into night, while the rich blues reflect the vast night sky illuminated by countless stars.
Large concentric circles symbolise home and the campfires where stories were shared. The U-shaped symbols represent family gathered together, connected through generations of knowledge, culture and love.
Every brushstroke carries meaning.
The Artist
Mulganai is the creative name of Emma Hollingsworth, a contemporary Indigenous artist whose vibrant works celebrate Country, family and connection.
Her unmistakable style blends traditional Indigenous storytelling with bold contemporary colour palettes, creating artwork that feels both deeply rooted in culture and refreshingly modern.
Emma's work has appeared across homewares, fashion and fine art, with every piece inviting people to pause, reflect and connect with the stories woven throughout her paintings.
For Knobby, collaborating with Mulganai was an opportunity to celebrate Indigenous creativity while sharing a meaningful story through everyday essentials.
