We believe every moment is an opportunity to defy boredom, to lean into challenges, and to live hard. It’s a mindset that’s shaped who we are as a brand, born in Queensland, built for the world, and it’s the same mindset we saw reflected in two remarkable Aussie athletes: Jackie Narracott and Peter Makrides.
Australia isn’t known for winter sports. We’re the beach nation. Sun, sand, and saltwater are in our DNA. And yet, every four years, a small group of talented Australians take on the fastest, coldest tracks on earth, hurtling face-first down ice at speeds up to 140km/h. Skeleton is a little-known sport, but it demands everything: fearlessness, grit, and absolute commitment. That’s where the connection clicked.
For our Green and Gold Collection, Knobby teamed up with Jackie and Peter: both Queensland natives, like us, to celebrate what it means to chase different Olympic dreams from a sun-soaked home. As an official Team supplier to the Australian Olympic Team, we saw a powerful parallel: a challenger brand and two elite athletes, all pushing beyond expectations and taking Australia to the global stage in their own way.
The result is Live Hard, a campaign that reimagines winter sport through a uniquely Aussie lens.
No ice? No problem. We created our own conditions.
Sand dunes became skeleton tracks. Boogie boards, cardboard, eskies and skateboards stood in for sleds. Jackie sent it down the dunes at over 100km/h. Peter chased speed down the steepest hill we could find. It was raw, creative, and unapologetically Australian; capturing the joy, passion, and determination it takes to train for winter sport under the harsh Australian sun, all whilst being wrapped in Knobby’s Green and Gold range.
Live Hard is more than a campaign. It’s a celebration of the fearless Aussie spirit, the kind that thrives on challenge, finds joy in the unlikely, and backs itself no matter the odds. It’s about supporting our athletes, embracing fearlessness, and proving that where you start doesn’t define how far you can go.
