Meet Katrina Gorry

Katrina Gorry’s story isn’t just about football. It’s about flow.

Salt air and sun-warmed afternoons. Early mornings. Open skies. The quiet rhythm of family life. Then comes the game, boots laced, the 19 shirt pulled on, that familiar steady smile. Present. Ready.

Since debuting for the Matildas and Brisbane Roar in 2012, Katrina has built a career defined by leadership and elite performance. A 2014 AFC Women’s Player of the Year and FFA Women’s Player of the Year, she’s represented Australia across multiple AFC Asian Cups, FIFA Women’s World Cups and Olympic Games, including the historic 2023 World Cup on home soil, where she recorded the most tackles of the tournament.

Now Captain at West Ham in the UK, her style isn’t about force. It’s about intelligence. Instinct. Flow inside the chaos.

Off the pitch, Katrina is a proud mum to Harper and Koby, becoming the first Matildas player to have a baby while in the national team, redefining what’s possible for women in sport.

The Artist

This design was brought to life by Juliane Ferreira, a Brazilian visual artist, designer and illustrator based on the Gold Coast.

Juliane’s work is rooted in storytelling. Inspired by nature and the vibrant, expressive colour palettes of Latin American culture, she layers emotion and movement into every piece she creates.

For the Mini-19 collaboration, Juliane worked closely with Katrina - listening first, researching deeply, and understanding the emotional core behind the story.

There are subtle nods to the Matildas through colour and symbolism, without feeling literal. As the composition unfolds, you see dynamic movement and determination, then moments of stillness. Fishing. Nature. Family.

Success and tenderness, coexisting.

Design

Mini-19 is layered and narrative-driven.

The print flows like a highlight reel stitched with memory. Movement builds through the composition - strong runs, focused presence, fearless tackles - symbolising resilience and ambition.

Then the energy softens. Home enters the frame. Open skies. Connection. Balance.

The palette reflects both worlds: bold sporting energy woven with warmth and grounded tones. It’s expressive without shouting. Emotional without being heavy.
