The Story
Deep in the red dust, the bass is thumping, and something’s not quite right.
Emus are doing the worm. Someone’s lost a thong. A didge is playing in reverse.
Then the sky lights up.
A mothership descends. Time slows. The bush goes quiet.
They’ve travelled lightyears to find the ultimate vibe… and somehow, they’ve found it right here.
Beam Me Up Skippy is a love letter to Aussie culture through a sci-fi lens, where bush doofs meet UFO sightings and kangaroos are always front and centre.
Inspiration
Designed by Aidan Howes, Beam Me Up Skippy taps into a deep Australian psyche, the kind that lives between long road trips, dusty festival grounds, and late nights under open skies.
The inspiration pulls from Aussie bush doofs, sci-fi folklore, native flora, and that surreal feeling when the music hits just right and reality starts to bend. Kangaroos stand tall, native florals glow, and something strange crackles in the air.
It’s unmistakably Australian, just viewed through a psychedelic, otherworldly lens.
The Artist
This design comes to life through the work of Aidan Howes, a Sydney-based illustrator known for blending fine-tip detail with bold digital colour.
Aidan’s work pulls heavily from Australian landscapes, native imagery, and the rituals of outdoor life, cold beers, open skies, and long nights that blur into mornings. His style balances playful storytelling with crisp line work, giving each scene depth, humour, and just the right amount of chaos.
