Ethics and Sustainability
BUSINESS SOCIAL COMPLIANCE INITIATIVE
Our factory in China is compliant with the Business Social Compliance Initiative. BSCI is a leading supply chain management system that supports companies to drive social compliance and improvements within factories. This ensures that employees are working in suitable conditions and they are implementing the principle international labour standards to protect workers rights.
Our factory had a full audit in October 2019. This looked at areas such as Social Management System and Cascade Effect, Workers Involvement and Protection, Discrimination, Fair Remuneration, Decent Working Hours, Occupational Health and Safety, No Child Labour, Protection of the Environment and Ethical Business Behaviour. The factory passed all of these standards with flying colours and was graded very highly in many areas.
OEKO-TEX (FACTORY AND TEXTILE ACCREDITATION)
KNOBBY textiles are tested and certified to receive the Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX. This is a comprehensive, third-party testing and certification system for textile products at all stages of production. Our accreditation shows that all textiles used to make our underwear have been tested with a comprehensive and strict catalogue of measures to ensure our product is safe and free from any harmful substances or chemicals.
All our paper packaging is Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified and our Buffalo Board products use natural kraft fibres that are fully recyclable, carbon neutral and PEFC certified, sourced from responsibly managed forests. We are approved to use the carbon neutral logo on this packaging so customers are aware of our commitment to sustainability.
Our courier bags are made from cornstarch, which is 100% biodegradable and GMO free! Within six months they will have completely broken down into elements like carbon dioxide and water, leaving no residue. They’re best suited for composting, not recycling, and have no nasty substances that will hurt plants or earthworms. Bloody Ripper.
