We collaborated with Zachary Bennet-Brook aka 'Saltwater Dreamtime', to create something unique...
Zachary Bennet-Brook is an Indigenous man of Torres Strait Island ancestry, born and raised on Dharawal Country, Australia. We recently travelled to Zac’s home in Wooloongong NSW, where he invited us into his studio to share his story, inspirations and to talk about our collaboration.
Water Gathering is inspired by the water that is all around us and features smooth circular shapes; interconnecting to show people gathering and connecting as one. Zac told us that as a surfer and someone connected to the ocean, water is the one constant that truly connects us all in this world. This was what he aimed to demonstrate with the design.
We’re proud to release our short documentary from our time with Zac - watch it below:
What was the inspiration when creating 'Water Gathering'? "Our natural surroundings, often being the ocean. For our collab, I wanted to create something bright & vibrant, but also representing the water & people coming together."
If you could get one message out there, what would it be? "Find what you love, explore what sets you apart and enjoy what you create." Follow the artwork of Saltwater Dreamtime HERE!
